The Arch of Triumph: It is 10m taller than the Arc de Triomphe de I’Etoile.

Kim Il Sung Square: It is the principal Square of the country where political events, mass demonstrations and meetings, and parades have been held on official holidays and various occasions starting from the mass rally of Pyongyang citizens celebrating the victory in the Korean War on July 28, 1953.

Day 4

Pyongyang-Wonsan-Mt. Kumgang

Mt. Kumgang(Diamond mountain in Korean) is a 1,638m(5,374ft) high mountain. It has ca. 12,000 peaks. “if I were to die the day after seeing Kumgan, I would have no regret”, said the Chines Song Dynasty poet Su Shi(1037-1101). Kumgangsan is divided in Inner, Outer, and Sea Kumgang. In the 40 by 60km area are beautiful mountains, streams, falls, springs, a lake, many Buddhist temples, and a museum.

King Tongmyong’s Mausoleum(BC298-BC259): King Tongmyong was the founder of the ancient Korean state of Koguryo, which existed form 277 BC to 668 AD, had a large territory in the eastern part of Asia and was the most powerful state in the history of Korea.

Ullim(Echo) Waterfall: It is one of the famous waterfalls in North Korea. This falls hit a rock in the halfway and divides into twin falls at the height of 45 meters, making a thunderous sound echo as far as four kilometers around. This is why the waterfall is called “Ullim” or “echo” in Korean.

Songdowon International Children’s Union: Songdowon International Children’s Union Camp is situated right on the coast. This area of pleasure grounds stretching to around 500 hectares is dotted with verdant pine trees and clear waters, and it is possible to bathe in the sea here on the white, sandy beach. There is also a botanical and zoological garden providing an attractive backdrop. Songdowon is also known for the international Children’s Union Camp, a large extracurricular centre for local and foreign children.

Chonsam Cooperative Farm: The Chonsam Cooperative Farm is one of the few places where foreign visitors are allowed to observe a working farm. The farm was founded in October of 1952, it has now grown to take up 500 hectares, 300 of those are dedicated to rice patty fields. Tourists to the area are often given a peek inside one of the local's homes and can witness a performance by children. The area has a library, a concert hall, and even a cinema.

Mt. Kumgang-Sea Kumgang-Lagoon Samil

Kuryongyon(ca. 3h): Between Inner and Sea Kumgang there is Outer Kumgang area. Outer Kumgang is the major tourist's destination with its iconic Kuryong Fall. Kuryongyon Course is the most beautiful one in Outer Kumgang. 7-8km, 3-4h walk

Lagoon Smail: According to legend, a king once visited the lake for a day but was so amazed by its beauty that he stayed there for three days, hence the name Samil(three days)

Tower of Juche Idea: It was built on the shore of River Taedong to symbolize the immortal Juche idea created by the President in April 1982. It is 170m in height.

Monument to Party Founding: It was erected in October 1995 at Munsu Street, Taedonggang District with the height of 50m to convey down the proud history of the Workers' Party of Korea composed of workers, farmers and intellectuals.

Visit a Schoolchildren's Palace: It is one of the after-school education centres for the city schoolchildren situated at Kwangbok Street in Mangyongdae District.

Pyongyang-Kaesong-Pyongyang

Panmunjom: Originally Panmunjom was a village between Kaesong and Seoul. The humble rural Village has been wild known after the Armistice Talks were held. The Meeting Hall where Armistice Talks were held and the Hall where the Armistice Agreement was signed are in it.

King Wang Kon’s Mausoleum: It is the mausoleum of King Wang Kon(877-943) who founded Koryo(918-1392)

Koryo Museum: It was a Confucian education facility of the Koryo dynasty but now it became a museum displayed historical remains and relics showing the foundation and development of the Koryo dynasty.

Kaesong Stamp Exhibition and Ginseng Emporium

Return to Pyongyang

Mangyongdae: It is the place where Present Kim Il Sung was born and spent his childhood.

Visit and Experience Pyongyang Metro: Take Pyongyang Metro with the Citizen of Pyongyang. It has two Lines: Mangyongdae Line was built in 1987 and Hyoksin Line in 1979. Both of them are from 100 to 150 meter deep. Its year-round temperature stays constant at an 18 degrees Celsius range.

Wangfujing Street: Wangfujing(literally: Prince's Mansion Well) Street is the busiest and brightest Shopping Street in Beijing.
